Connecting international youth work with intergenerational learning...
InterGenerationes is a pilot project which aims to open up the sector of international youth work to intergenerational learning and to enable an exchange between the two fields of international youth work and senior citizen work
Therefore a broad alliance of non-governmental organisations and foundations, from six European countries, from "international youth work", "senior citizen work" and "adult education" sectors have joined in cooperation.
The main project activities are an international conference to open up international youth work to intergenerational learning (25.-27.02.2011), an Europe-wide PR-campaign (April – June 2011) and a trilateral German-French-Polish multigenerational meeting (14.-20.05.2011).
First step - the conference
The international conference will take place on 25.-27.02.2011 in Krzyżowa / Poland. Participants from the international youth work, adult education and senior citizen work sectors, from all over Europe, are welcome.
The conference consists of keynote speeches on the topic, country reports and discussions on methods for international multigenerational exchange, introduction of European Networks concerning intergenerational dialogue, survey of EU-fundraising for intergenerational exchange, presentation of best-practice-projects and workshops on different aspects of the issue.
Second Step - PR-Campaign
Within the Europe wide PR-Campaign institutions from the field of international youth work, adult- and senior education should be attracted to intergenerational learning. Promotion postcards, press releases and national action days should draw the attention of different actors to the international dialogue between young and old and motivate them to integrate it to their daily work.
Third Step – german-french-polish meeting for people of all generations
Within the international meeting for people of all generations 24 people from Germany, Poland and France aged between 19 and 99 get the chance to experience the international dialogue between generations in Krzyżowa / Kreisau. They will be doing workshops on the topic of history, exploring their own biography, getting to know each other with help of integrative games or learn some words in German, French and Polish.
